At The Garden Gate, we often hear the comment that there’s so much to look at, and we hope that you always feel that way! Below, is a little showcase of some of the new merchandise, plant material and happenings.
Buying roses? Do you know that in South Florida, the best roses to plant are those that have been grafted on Fortuniana root stock? Because we have destructive soil nematodes, un-grafted roses will soon weaken and eventually die unless they are Fortuniana stock, or Heirloom, China, or “Antique” roses, which are more resistant and have stood the test of time. Don’t waste your energy on any other types of roses. Even though you have purchased the proper variety, remember that even the most trouble free roses may sometimes get fungal and insect issues. Neem will take care of both and is safe for you and the environment.
We’re always getting in new plants and products.
This is one of the many beautiful and fragrant roses that we can grow in South Florida.
